Blades of Light is a progressive raiding guild. To make our raids run smoothly and be productive for all, the following guidelines should be followed by all raiders. Failure to abide by these rules may result in removal from or suspension from raids and other disciplinary measures.

Roles:

The Raid Leader (RL) handles determining & posting strats, emceeing out of combat, being field commander in combat, delivering boss fight explanations, often, main tanking, and pacing.

The Raid Manager (RM) will take care of filling spots for no shows, managing loot, handling interpersonal issues, enduring critics, (optionally) shares the emcee duties, and is responsible for filling silences and just generally keeping the mood on par.
  • The RL is still the one primarily behind the mic, with the exception of loot distribution
  • The raid shouldn't be whispering the RL during the run. All whispers can go to the RM, and RM filters info to RL as needed
  • The RM will be primarily used for 25-person progression raids, and for breaking in new RLs in Kara. On other runs--Karathon comes to mind--it probably isn't necessary
Preparation: Everyone is expected to come to raids on time and prepared. This includes everything needed to do your part in the raid, such as bullets, spell reagents, components, consumables, keys, and quest items. All raiders should read up on the bosses that are to be faced in the raid and their roles in vanquishing these bosses.

Looting: The looting procedures in the Guild Charter will be followed for all raids. If you have questions about a specific loot situation, ask the RL or RM.

Wait List: If you are on the wait list, you are considered to be on backup. You should be prepared to be called into the raid, and keep yourself ready until 15 minutes after the raid has started.

Membership Levels: Initiates will be allowed (indeed, are encouraged) to raid with the guild, and can roll for epic items. However, they will not be eligible for tier tokens unless the only alternative is to shard.

AFKs: In order to keep the raid moving in a timely manner, everyone should keep personal breaks (AFKs) to a minimum. AFKs should be done during announced breaks or between pulls--never during fights. If you must go AFK, whisper the RL, announce it in the raid channel, and set your status to /AFK. If you need to be AFK for more than 5 minutes, speak to the RL about being replaced.

Deaths: If you die or if there is a wipe, you are expected to run back to your body so as not to waste valuable time and mana resources, Release and run unless instructed otherwise by the RL.

Let's continue to respect each other, work together as a team, and have fun. We've come a long way, and we'll go further still! Thank you for your cooperation.
